# A Practical Planning Tool for Charging Infrastructure

Whether a wallbox or a charging station, every charging solution involves much more than a cable and a connection. [GreenCity/Mobility](/en/services/green-city-mobility/) was developed to provide a sound calculation basis for the design and technical planning of charging infrastructure. It is part of the new GreenCity/SimulationX simulation environment and focuses on integrating charging solutions for buildings and districts into existing energy systems. GreenCity/Mobility includes freely parameterizable models of

- Electric vehicles and fleets (charging behavior and effects on the grid)
- AC/DC charging solutions and charging controllers
- Buildings and storage systems
- Distribution grids and their supply units (e.g., CHP plants)
- Heating networks, air-conditioning units, and renewable generation systems
