Initial applications for the new BMVI charging infrastructure funding scheme for electric vehicles in Germany can be submitted from March 1, 2017 to April 28, 2017. The first phase allocates €10 million for normal charging infrastructure (up to 22 kW) and up to 2,500 fast charging points (from 22 kW). By 2020, €300 million is to be invested in the market rollout of electromobility.
Eligible Expenditure
Funding consists of investment grants for purchasing and installing publicly accessible charging infrastructure. This includes the necessary grid connections at the charging site and installation of the charging stations.
- Normal and fast charging points: Charging stations, power electronics, civil works, foundations, installation and commissioning, parking space markings, etc.
- Funding: Up to 40%, with maximum amounts of
- €3,000 for normal charging points (up to and including 22 kW)
- €12,000 for fast charging points (< 100 kW) – €30,000 for fast charging points (> 100 kW)
