Technical Monitoring for Smart Buildings on Site

Monitor sites using data, identify optimization potential, and improve operation sustainably with digital models.

Technical site monitoring is an ideal solution for OEMs, industrial park and district operators, and industrial research institutes seeking to operate their sites optimally. EA Systems Dresden GmbH supports clients from consulting and concept development through model-based optimization to the preparation and visualization of results in live dashboards and analysis tools. Technical monitoring of school, office, and administrative buildings, as well as food retail and wholesale, including cold chain monitoring with Coolrecording, is also supported.

Starting with consulting and concept development, EA Systems Dresden GmbH advises and supports clients from preliminary planning through implementation. In addition to developing concepts, existing monitoring concepts can be reviewed and optimized, and preliminary concepts can be assessed for feasibility.

By combining interdisciplinary knowledge, experience, and expertise with close collaboration with Aartesys AG, EA Systems Dresden captures energy, weather, and environmental data, as well as on-site generation and consumption data, across sectors at the client’s site. Data is acquired through existing sensors or through sensors supplied by Aartesys AG to replace or complement them. A local network collects the data centrally and transfers it to a monitoring server through an SSH/VPN gateway. API cockpits then analyze and visualize the data using modern algorithms.

Using the in-house Green City simulation library for SimulationX, EA Systems Dresden GmbH’s engineers model a digital twin of the real system on site. They account for site-specific and structural characteristics, combined heat and power, and sector coupling. Site- and client-specific model development and the integration of renewable energy are readily supported. Once completed, the digital twin model can be maintained over the long term and adapted and extended as circumstances and requirements change.

The model is supplied with the captured site data, and a wide range of scenarios is simulated. The results allow potential synergies with neighboring systems and system faults to be identified early, and predictive control strategies to be investigated and validated. The resulting model-based optimization approach can be defined in a concrete operating schedule and action plan and implemented cost- and resource-efficiently in the real system. Results are visualized and considered in further data analyses.
