Charging Infrastructure and Monitoring for the Pilot Phase

Technische Werke Ludwigshafen (TWL) is strongly committed to offering its clients modern energy solutions. Expanding electromobility is an important pillar of future energy infrastructure. Together with EA Systems Dresden, TWL took the first steps into a new era of mobility and energy. In September 2015, the first two latest-generation charging stations were commissioned in the Walzmühle parking garage operated by Ludwigshafener Kongress- und Marketinggesellschaft (LUKOM). Up to six vehicles can charge there. The project is accompanied by an extensive monitoring campaign. Measurement data on effects on the grid and usage behavior enable optimal sizing of additional charging clusters. They are individually adapted to site requirements, reducing the cost of future charging infrastructure and its grid connections.
