Energy Retrofit – Lohr School and Sports Center

The comprehensive renovation of the school and sports complex in Lohr am Main implements an 80% reduction in natural gas consumption. The basis is a combination of PV-powered heat pumps, CHP, ambient heat absorbers, ice storage, and stratified thermal storage.

EA Systems Dresden assessed the plant concept, advised the planners, and simulated subsystems and their interactions. The models formed the basis of a model-based test environment for developing the control system. Intensive monitoring continually compares real measurements with the model.
