TU Dresden Charging Campus – Smart Charging Infrastructure for Research and Operation

Charging campus with easyCharge charging infrastructure at TU Dresden

The Electromobility in Dresden (EMiD) and Energy and Mobility in Interconnected Systems (ENMOVER) research projects investigated combined electromobility usage scenarios at TU Dresden. easyCharge charging units and the easyCharge web platform were used to investigate fleet charging behavior and multiple-use scenarios.

The charging campus includes a DC fast charging station, two charging stations, and four wallboxes. The entire charging infrastructure is centrally controlled and managed through the easyCharge supervisory unit.

Smart Charging Infrastructure – easyCharge

  • easyCharge charging units for Type 2 at 16 A, 32 A, and automatic switching between 16 and 32 A
  • Charging units for Schuko, ISO 15118, Powerline, and EnergyBus
  • Central control through a supervisory unit with OCPP connectivity and a 16-inch touchscreen
  • Charging specifications based on renewable yields, fleet data, and user preferences
  • Monitoring and diagnostics, including remote maintenance and updates

Extended Vehicle Management

  • Vehicle location and state of charge
  • Charging point availability
  • Adaptive load and charging management
  • Demand-based charging power
